Cutting Fluid (cutting fluid, coolant) is an industrial liquid used during metal cutting and grinding processes to cool and lubricate both the cutting tool and the workpiece. It is formulated by scientifically compounding a variety of high-performance functional additives, resulting in a product that not only provides excellent cooling and lubrication but also offers effective rust prevention, degreasing, cleaning, and corrosion inhibition, along with easy dilution characteristics. This modern cutting fluid overcomes the common drawbacks of traditional soap-based emulsions—which tend to emit unpleasant odors in summer, are difficult to dilute in winter, and offer poor rust prevention—without negatively affecting the paint on lathe-turned parts. It is particularly suitable for cutting and grinding ferrous metals and is considered one of the most advanced grinding products available today.
Application Areas:

Basic Introduction:The cutting fluid should possess excellent stability; during storage and use, it must not form precipitates, stratify, separate oil or soap, or undergo aging. It should also exhibit a certain level of resistance to bacteria and molds, thus preventing microbial growth and biodegradation that could lead to unpleasant odors and deterioration. Moreover, it must not damage painted components, be non-hazardous to humans, and have no irritating odor. In use, it should generate little or no smoke or mist, be easy to recover, low in pollution, and the discharged waste liquid should be easy to treat—after treatment, it should meet the national standards for industrial wastewater discharge.
Process Overview:
Modern machining is evolving toward higher speeds, greater power, and increased precision. The development of hard-to-machine materials such as super-hard and ultra-high-strength alloys has significantly increased the challenges in cutting processes. These factors result in a substantial increase in friction and frictional heat during cutting, thereby demanding that metalworking fluids offer superior lubrication, cooling, cleaning, and rust prevention properties to achieve the desired surface finish.
Mineral lubricating oils exhibit excellent lubrication and rust prevention but have poor cooling and cleaning capabilities. Emulsion-based and water-based cutting fluids provide outstanding cooling and cleaning properties but often fall short in lubrication and rust prevention. Water-based cutting fluids, however, not only incorporate all the desirable characteristics of emulsion-based fluids but also achieve lubrication, cooling, and rust prevention performance that meets or exceeds those of traditional emulsions. Consequently, water-based cutting fluids have become the preferred choice in both domestic and international machining industries to enhance processing performance.
